Endeavour Art Gallery is a new visual arts space which will contribute to building EDP as a hub for visual arts. Established as an additional platform for our Every Child An Artist initiative in 2012, the gallery will focus on the display, appreciation, promotion and study of our students’ art , as well as play host to other art exhibitions. We hope that the gallery will be a professional learning platform for fellow art educators too. Situated at Level 3 of the school, it is a creative space established for the enrichment, enjoyment and engagement of our students and visitors.
Here's some snapshots of 2012 'trial-run' prior to our official launch this year. Enjoy :)
Art crew working behind the scene to set up 2012 exhibition of P1 to P5 artworks :)
Our very 1st EDP exhibition last year! Generating interest during assembly about the exhibition :)
Gallery tour conducted by art teachers and self-directed learning during recesses :)
P6 pupils conducting gallery tour for their classmates. A glimpse into the role of an art ambassador :)
The art gallery has been an enriching space to engage the pupils in dialogues about art-making processes, exposure to a repertoire of art forms and a glimpse into fellow pupil-artists' thoughts. It has provided a platform for us as art educator to reflect and reconsider our approaches to the teaching of art too.
Stay tune for updates on our official launch 2013 :)
I looking forward to the Art Exhibition.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the artworks become dusty? Are you guys going to clean them piece-by-piece then rearrange them or just leave them be? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

ReplyDeleteThank you for your positive feedback, everyone. Your encouragement is a great motivation for us. Kudos to our P6 art teacher, Mr Kamsari a.k.a. Mr K, for introducing his P6 pupils to our visual arts blog. Despite his busy schedule, Mr K even brought his pupils to the computer lab and encouraged them to blog about their views towards our newly launched blog. Thank you, Mr K :)
